every time i back out of our garage, i feel like i am playing luge. my car bounces off the snow walls if i don't steer super straight. it's almost impossible to see if there are pedestrians or cars coming down the street - that's how high the snow has piled up.
so, we're spending lots of time inside. here's a shot of Skye with her finished gingerbread house! we had lots of fun baking it and putting it together.

That's gorgeous! She sure looks proud of herself. Did you make it from scratch? I just picked up a kit at the store--that's ambitious enough for me!
well, it was sort of from scratch and sort of not. we had a box of gingerbread cookie mix someone had given us, but it was for gingerbread men. so i made a template with card stock, made sure it would stand, used the template to cut out the dough and baked it. we stayed small and simple. i made the icing from scratch and gathered all of Skye's candy stash! it actually wasn't all that hard once i figured out the template. so, i think i'll save the template for next year. but who knows? maybe next year we'll make a grand castle!! :)
i should also add that Skye pretty much decorated the gingerbread house all by herself. i put the icing in a piping bag for her and she got to work!
Wow! Sounds pretty complicated to me, but I'm the person who always ruined her art projects in elementary school. :)
Great job!
Looks good enough to eat! :-)
